The top Pro Style QB is Sam Huard of Kennedy Catholic in Washington. Huard, who is rated as the No. 2 overall quarterback, is the son of former NFL quarterback Damon Huard.
Huard, who has given his verbal commitment to the University of Washington, has led the State of Washington in passing years as a sophomore and junior. He’s already topped 10,000 yards passing after a junior season that saw him throw for over 4,000 yards with 56 touchdowns. Huard will enter his senior season with nearly 12,000 yards passing.
Prince Avenue Christian School’s (Athens, Georgia) Brock Vandagriff will be staying close to home after his senior season. Vandagriff has given his verbal to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Last month, J.J. McCarthy, the overall No. 4 QB, announced that he was leaving Nazareth Academy in Illinois for Florida’s IMG Academy. McCarthy led Nazareth to three straight Illinois state championship appearances, winning in 2017.
Last year, the No. 5 prospect Kyle McCord missed the end of his junior season due to injury, which cost him the thrill of leading St. Joseph’s Prep to its second straight Pennsylvania 6A state championship. McCord has given his verbal to Ohio State.
Combine McCord with some of the top talent in the country, look for the Hawks to have a high preseason ranking. Last year, the SJP finished No. 10 in the nation.
The top QB in the Class of 2022 is Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll in Texas. Ewers. Ewers completed over 72 percent of his passes last year with, for 4,003 yards and 45 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions. He also ran for 569 yards and nine touchdowns for the Dragons, who finished No. 30 in our national rankings.
