Imhotep Charter’s (Pennsylvania) surprising 12-6 defeat of Pittsburgh Central Catholic at the Western PA vs. Everyone football weekend shakes-up the latest High School Football America East Region Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football. Imhotep Charter enters the rankings at No. 15, while the Vikings fall from No. 8 to No. 16.
This week, Imhotep will play DeMatha (Maryland), ranked No. 27 in the HSFA 100. It will be the second week in a row that the Panthers will be facing a nationally-ranked team. Pittsburgh Central Catholic entered Saturday’s game ranked No. 159 in the nation.
Headlining this weekend’s schedule will be a showdown between No. 5 Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey) and No. 8 Iona Prep (New York) on Saturday. Bosco, ranked No. 121 in the High School Football America national rankings, is coming-off a 26-7 loss to No. 62 St. John’s College High School (Washington, DC). Iona Prep is currently ranked No. 160 in our national rankings.
The DBP/Iona Prep game is part of the Rumble on the Raritan at Rutgers University. It’s a three-day, 12-game event presented by the New Jersey Football Coaches Association.
In all, five of the teams at the Rumble on the Raritan are in our Top 300 teams in the nation. Three others are ranked regionally by HSFA.
The nightcap on Saturday’s card will be No. 9 DePaul Catholic (New Jersey) facing No. 14 Cardinal Hayes of New York.
A big inter-region matchup between No. 4 St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, New Jersey) and St. Frances Academy (Maryland) has been cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols.
The East Region is made-up of schools from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
