There are no changes in the latest High School Football America Maryland Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
No. 2 DeMatha bounced back from last week’s loss to top-ranked Good Counsel with a big Washington Catholic Athletic Conference win Friday night. The Stags beat St. John’s College High School (Washington, DC) 21-14 in overtime in a nationally-televised game on ESPN.
Archbishop Spalding holds at No. 4 after a hard-fought 24-6 loss to Pennsylvania-power St. Joseph’s Prep. SJP entered the game No. 9 in the HSFA 300 national rankings. The Cavs dropped two spots to 96 nationally. Next up for Spalding is No. 5 Loyola Blakefield.
No. 1 Good Counsel can take another step toward a WCAC regular season title when it faces Gonzaga in a battle of nationally-ranked teams. GC is currently No. 23 in the HSFA 300. Gonzaga enters the game No. 256 in the nation.
