As we hit the 7A semifinals and 6A through 1A quarterfinals, all reigning Alabama high school football champs are still alive.

In 7A, Hoover, after suffering two regular season defeats, will face Spain Park this week.  The Bucs will try to avenge its 17-0 loss to Spain Park earlier this year, which snapped the school’s 43-game in-state win streak.  Last week, Hoover beat Vestavia Hills to atone for its other regular season loss this year.

The Bucs are going after fourth straight state title and second straight in 7A.

The other champs still alive — Clay-Chalkville (6A), ranked #16 in the latest High School Football America National Top 25, St. Paul’s (5A), Leeds (4A), Madison Academy (3A), Fyffe (2A) and Maplesville (1A).
