Center Grove begins its quest for a fourth straight Indiana 6A high school football state championship as the No. 1 team in the High School Football America Indiana Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football. The Trojans will be tested out of the gate with four straight matchups against out-of-state opponents ranked in our preseason national rankings.
The good news is three of the four games will be on the Trojans’ home turf.

CG, ranked No. 33 nationally, will open on the road (August 19) against two-time defending Ohio Division I champ St. Edward, ranked No. 12 in the HSFA 300. The Trojans will play their home opener the following weekend against No. 31 Oakland High School, the winner of three straight Tennessee 6A state titles.
On September 1, Center Grove will host Kentucky-power Trinity, winners of 27 state titles. The Shamrocks are ranked No. 129 in our preseason national rankings.
No. 54 Archbishop Moeller (Ohio) heads to the Hoosier State on September 8.
Center Grove will close-out its regular season against No. 2 Cathedral. The Fighting Irish ended the Trojans’ 35-game in-state win streak during their regular season matchup last year. Center Grove gained revenge with a 33-10 win in the state semifinals.
In addition to its No. 2 state ranking, Cathedral is ranked No. 70 nationally. The Irish, after opening against Lafayette Jefferson in the Horseshoe Classic at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, will test themselves against No. 3 Brownsburg.
Last year, Brownsburg beat the Irish 42-35.
Checking in behind Brownsburg is Hamilton Southeastern at No. 4. The Royals beat Brownsburg for the Hoosier Crossroads Conference title. They advanced to the state semifinals where they lost to Fort Wayne Carroll.
Carmel rounds-out the Top 5.
