It’s a big week for head-to-head meetings in the High School Football America Georgia High School Football Top 25 statewide rankings. There are four games that will shape next week’s rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.
No. 2 Grayson travels south to play No. 6 Colquitt County, however, that won’t be the biggest game in South Georgia. It’s time for the Winnersville Classic in Valdosta between No. 3 Lowndes and No. 5 Valdosta.

The Winnersville Classic began in 1968. Since then Valdosta, America’s all-time winner in high school football victories, has beaten its arch-rival 37 times to 20 wins for Lowndes. However, Lowndes has won 11 of the last 15 matchups, including a 71-35 rout last year.
The last time Valdosta beat the Vikings was in 2016, giving the Wildcats their 900th all-time victory.
Other head-to-head games in the Georgia Top 25 this week — No. 10 Parkview at No. 12 Milton and No. 12 Buford hosts No. 15 Archer.
