This weekend’s CIF-Southern Section Division 1 semifinals feature the top four teams in the High School Football America California Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. Top-ranked Mater Dei will face No. 4 Corona Centennial in one semi, while No. 2 St. John Bosco will play Servite in the other.
In the CIF-SS Division 2 semifinals, No. 9 Orange Lutheran will meet No. 10 Sierra Canyon. The winner of that one gets the winner of No. 18 Alemany and undefeated Inglewood.
Up north, No. 6 De La Salle faces No. 23 Pittsburg for the North Coast Section championship. DLS has won 28 straight NCS titles.
And, back down south, No. 13 Carlsbad will play No. 17 Cathedral Catholic in the San Diego Open Division championship.
New to the rankings are Serra (Gardena) and Long Beach Poly at No. 24 and No. 25 respectively.
