Nassau and Suffolk high school football fans are rejoicing over the news that football practice will be back March 1 with games to follow two weeks later. The news comes several days after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that higher-risk sports, including football, could begin on February 1, if county health departments signed-off on the resumption.
An excited Westhampton Beach head coach Bryan Schaumloffel made his team’s announcement on Twitter.
ALL SPORTS a go for Suffolk County. High Risk sports start Feb. 1st. Football starts March 1st and first game is the 12th or 13th.
