Two-time defending Texas state champ Westlake, ranked No. 2 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, will go for a three-peat next week at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Saturday, the Chaparrals advanced to the Class 6A Division II championship game after easily beating No. 5 Katy 45-14. The Chaps scored on their first six possessions.
Westlake pushed its win streak to 39 straight behind 5-star quarterback Cade Klubnik, who earlier this week was named one of three finalists for the Gatorade National Player of the Year Award. The Clemson-recruit tossed five touchdown passes.
