The Chicago Bears are proud to announce Kelly Regan, a senior at Oak Park River Forest High School (OPRFHS) in Oak Park, Ill., as the eighth recipient of the Community High School All-Star award for the 2023 season. The Community High School All-Star award, brought to you by Athletico Physical Therapy, will recognize nine total high school football players from March through May who are making a positive impact in their community and at their school.

Kelly is a dedicated community servant who actively participates in several service clubs at OPRFHS, including the Sports Medicine Club, Women in Leadership Club, and Business Club. As part of her Leadership class, she also assists first-year students in successfully transitioning into high school. Outside of school, Kelly volunteers with the Huskie Booster Club and Beyond Hunger, where she helps pack meals for the less fortunate in her community.

Aside from her community service, Kelly is a student-athlete who has excelled in both athletics and academics. She plays Girls’ Flag Football and Softball at OPRFHS, and she carries a 3.5 GPA while taking no less than four Advanced Placement classes. Kelly is interested in pursuing a career in Sports Medicine or a related healthcare field after high school. Her interest in this field is demonstrated through her internship at Rush Hospital Oak Park, where she explored every option available in healthcare. As part of the OPRF Sports Medicine Club, she has also been on the field, caring for athletes during competition under the tutelage of a certified Athletic Trainer.

Kelly’s Flag Football coach, Jim Geovanes, praised her, saying, “When you take a look at the big picture, Kelly is an honor-roll multisport student-athlete who plays an integral role in three different clubs at school while volunteering in her free time. Her initiative, responsibility, hard work, and dependability, along with her sense of humor and creativity, make her an excellent role model for today’s youth.”

Each Community High School All-Star award recipient will receive a custom hand-painted football, gift bag and an invitation to a future Bears event. The Bears will also make a $500 donation to the charitable organization of the player’s choosing.
