After a year-long battle between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco, it’s SJB that finishes No. 1 in the High School Football America California Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. The Braves, who also won the HSFA national championship, began the season ranked No. 2 in the statewide rankings. Bosco claims the top spot by beating the reigning national champs for the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 championship, avenging its regular season loss to Mater Dei.
Once again, the southern part of the state dominates the rankings with 19 teams coming from either the Southern or San Diego sections.
Open Division runner-up Serra (San Mateo) was the highest ranked northern team at No. 6.
