St. Francis makes its first-ever appearance in the High School Football America Illinois Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Spartans break in at No. 7 after beating former No. 5 St. Rita 31-28. The loss drops the Mustangs to No. 8.
Maine South re-enters the Top 10 at No. 9 after winning its sixth straight since losing its season-opener 10-7 to Brother Rice.
Edwardsville also makes its first appearance in the statewide rankings at No. 10. The 7-0 Tigers will test that ranking against No. 2 East St. Louis at home this Saturday.
