It’s showdown time at the top of the High School Football America Georgia High School Football Top 25.
No. 2 McEachern travels to No. 3 Marietta in a battle for first place in Region 3-AAAAAAA. Both teams are highly-ranked nationally in the High School Football America 100 — McEachern is at No. 10 and Marietta is ranked No. 17. Last week, McEachern opened region play with a 19-14 win over No. 8 Hillgrove.
There are plenty of other big games in Class 7A this weekend.
In Region 1-AAAAAAA this week, No. 4 Colquitt County travels to No. 17. No. 1 Lowndes opens region play against Tift County, which will be followed by games against Camden County in two weeks and Colquitt County on November 1.
In Region 8-AAAAAAA, No. 5 Grayson and No. 16 Archer will play their annual grudge match on Friday night.
Friday night in Region 6-AAAAAAA, No. 7 North Gwinnett takes-on No. 23 Collins Hill. They are the only two undefeated teams left in the region.
No. 11 Buford became the eleventh team from Georgia in the latest High School Football America 100 national rankings on Sunday. The Wolves are currently ranked No. 98 in the nation.
