Florida high school football fans, get ready to find-out how the state stacks-up against some of the best from around the country.
Event organizers of the Broward County vs. The USA have announced a seven-game, three-day showcase featuring eight teams that finished in the High School Football America 100, powered by NFL Play Football, last year.

Two of the games will be part of the GEICO ESPN High School Kickoff. St. Thomas Aquinas High School will host both of those games on Saturday, August 27.
Three-time defending Florida 7A champ STA will host Pennsylvania-power St. Joseph’s Prep. The Raiders finished 2021 ranked No. 6 in our Top 100. St. Joe’s, which finished runner-up in Pennsylvania’s largest classification, was ranked No. 67.
Between the two, they own 19 state championships — STA has 13, SJP has six.
After the STA/SJP game, Los Alamitos (California) travels across the country to play American Heritage (Plantation, Florida) on ESPN. Los Alamitos features three players ranked in the Top 50 of the 247Sports Class of 2023 rankings.
The Griffins top player is quarterback Malachi Nelson, who is ranked as the No. 2 overall recruit in the class.
Nelson, who has already given his verbal commitment to USC, led the program to a No. 98 ranking in the HSFA 100 last fall.
Nelson’s favorite receiver, Makai Lemon, is ranked No. 15 in the player rankings. Fellow receiver DeAndre Moore, Jr. is considered the 46th overall college prospect by 247Sports.
American Heritage, which always plays one of the toughest schedules in the nation, also features a highly sought-after wide receiver in Brandon Inniss, who is the No. 19 recruit in the Class of ’23.
If those two matchups aren’t enough for those who travel to Fort Lauderdale, there’s a third game at STA that could be the best of the bunch, but it won’t be on ESPN, it will be on FloFootball.
The game between Florida 3A champ Chaminade-Madonna and St. John’s College High School from Washington, DC matches two teams that finished last year in our Top 20. C-M was ranked No. 18 and SJC was No. 19.
