With the trading of Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, it’s pretty much assured that the Chicago Bears will take quarterback Caleb Williams with the first pick in next month’s NFL Draft.
Williams played his high school football at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. where he was a 5-star college football prospect. Unfortunately, his senior season was cancelled by the coronavirus pandemic. However, his sophomore and junior varsity years were outstanding.
In 2018, Williams led the Eagles to a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship, passing for 26 touchdowns and running for ten more. Gonzaga finished the season ranked No. 14 in the High School Football America national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
As a junior, Williams threw for 19 scores and ran for 18. Gonzaga finished 8-3 and No. 40 in our national rankings.
While he didn’t play his season season, because of COVID-19, he was named the MVP of the Elite 11 quarterback competition.
Below are Williams’ junior highlights.
