With a short turnaround due to the Spring 2021 high school football season, De La Salle is getting ready for a 10-game fall schedule that will feature an October showdown with St. Frances Academy from Maryland. The Spartans finished a perfect 6-0 in the spring and No. 52 in the 2020-21 High School Football America 100 powered by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to provide fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels.
After a scrimmage against Pittburg, DLS will open on the road against Stockton’s St. Mary’s. In the spring, the Spartans opened with a 35-27 win over St. Mary’s. It was the Rams only loss in a 3-1 spring season.
In the Spring ’21 High School Football America California Top 25, De La Salle finished No. 3 in the state, while St. Mary’s finished No. 15.

Four of the Spartans’ fall opponents finished in our spring statewide rankings. Aside from St. Mary’s, DLS will play Cathedral Catholic (No. 5), Monterey Trail (No. 16) and Folsom (No. 17).
De La Salle’s only out-of-state opponent will be Baltimore’s St. Frances in a battle between two national powers on October 1. That game is scheduled to be televised on ESPN.
Since 2013 when High School Football America began using its proprietary algorithm to rank teams nationally, De La Salle has been the fifth most powerful team in the country. St. Frances is the 19th most successful program in the nation, which could be higher if it was for the fact that the Panthers only played one game in 2020 due to COVID-19 and had a limited schedule in 2018 when teams in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association refused to play the powerful Panthers.

De La Salle will close-out the regular season with its East Bay Athletic League games against Amador Valley, California, Clayton Valley Charter and San Ramon Valley.
