The 2021 regular season closes-out this weekend with the “Battle of the Lakes” in Austin between top-ranked Westlake and No. 11 Lake Travis. The two-time defending state championship Chaparrals bring a 33-game win streak into the contest. The last team to beat Westlake is Lake Travis late in 2019.

As far as the latest High School Football America Texas Top 25, there’s a shake-up in the middle of the statewide rankings powered by NFL Play Football. Prosper’s 28-23 upset of former No. 5 Allen gives the Top 25 a toss between No. 5 and No. 14. Allen tumbles nine spots this week to No. 14.

North Shore climbs three spots to No. 10 after beating former No. 8 Atascocita for the District 21-6A championship. Atascocita drops to No. 13 this week.

New to the rankings this week is Lovejoy at No. 25.
