The Battling Bees sit at No. 17 after edging former No. 16 Cleveland Heights 21-20 in the regional semifinals. The win avenged a ten-point loss to CH during the regular season. The Tigers drop two spots to No. 18, finishing 2023 with an 11-2 mark.
Next up for Medina is No. 2 St. Edward in the regional final. St. Ed’s is trying to win its third straight Division I state championship.
In the other Division I regional finals, No. 5 Archbishop Moeller plays No. 8 Lakota West; No. 19 Dublin Coffman takes-on No. 24 Springfield; and No. 15 Hilliard Bradley takes-on unranked Upper Arlington.
There are two head-to-head Top 25 matchups in Division II — No. 3 Archbishop Hoban vs. No. 23 Walsh Jesuit and No. 13 Anderson vs. No. 16 Withrow.
