Colquitt County moves-up two spots to No. 2 in the latest High School Football America Georgia Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football. The Packers, who won the HSFA national championship in 2015, are 8-0 after beating former No. 19 Lowndes 42-14 on Friday.
Up next for CC is an away game against No. 16 Valdosta. A win over the Wildcats would guarantee the Packers at least a share of the 7A Region 1 title.
Valdosta will be coming-off its first loss of the year. The Cats lost to Camden County 17-14 on Friday.
Thomas County Central makes its first-ever appearance in our statewide Top 25. The Yellow Jackets are at No. 24 this week after beating Houston County 42-21, which drops the Bears from No. 24 to No. 25 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
This week, TCC faces Lee County in a 5A Region 1 showdown. The Yellow Jackets are the only undefeated team left in the region after Northside (Warner Robins) beat Lee County 23-20 last Friday.
Lee County tumbles from No. 6 to No. 12 this week
Thomas County Central can win the region if it beats Lee County and Northside (Warner Robins) in the season finale November 4.
Also new to the Top 25 this week are Marist at No. 21, Blessed Trinity at No. 22 and North Gwinnett at No. 25.
