It’s been a fun year to be a Southern California high school football fan.
This Thanksgiving Weekend will feature Mater Dei-Servite, Part II. These long-time rivals will head into the CIF-Southern Section Division 1 championship ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the High School Football America California Top 25, powered by NFL Play Football.
On the national scene, Mater Dei is ranked No. 1 in America, while Servite is No. 6.

About a month ago, these two heavyweights went toe-to-toe with MD winning an instant classic 46-37.
Also looking for gold this weekend is No. 5 St. Francis (Mountain View). The Lancers will play No. 9 Serra (San Mateo) for the Central Coast Division I title. On November 6, St. Francis beat the Padres 44-21.
The Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 title will be decided between No. 17 Rocklin and Folsom, which re-enters the Cali Top 25 this week at No. 23. In mid-October, Rocklin blasted Folsom 40-7. It was the Bulldogs’ first loss in the Sierra Foothill League since joining in 2014. Folsom had won 44 straight games and seven league titles.
